Expression of Interest (EOI - SkillSelect)

When you're ready to submit your EOI online via SkillSelect to DIBP, re-check the followings before your submission, because they might check them immediately by means of communication:

  1. Your valid passport (advisable)
  2. Your English result reference number within the last 36 months: i.e. IELTS has the Test Reference Number (TFN)
  3. Your positive skills assessment: i.e. Engineers Australia has the EA ID and Application ID
  4. Necessary paperworks for 12-month relationship evidence (if you include family members in your visa application if you're invited)
  5. Whether or not your nominated occupation has hit the ceiling number (i.e. the maximum invitation per programme). If it has, you might have to wait for the next Australia's Migration Programme, which renews annually on 1 July.
  6. It's also advisable to prepare your paperworks before hand to ensure smooth operation. See more

SkillSelect automatically calculates your points - make sure you claim what you actually have

Having said that, I believe this selection process is automated and will prioritise EOI according to total points claimed by applicants (i.e. 85, 80 pts will get invited before 75, 70, 65, 60 pts), places left in SOL, age,..etc. In a nut shell, if your nominated occupation has many invitations left, and if you have hit 85 pts, then you'd be invited in a matter of days. The selection process returns results on Wednesdays every fortnight, so you might wrie this down to save the efforts of checking my invitation everyday as I did for 22 days
